Our local contractor referred us to Dallas Smith when we decided to update our kitchen. Dallas came out to look at our kitchen and talk to us about what we were looking for in our new kitchen. He then did a design sending us both a floor plan and virtual pictures that helped showcase the design in materials that were similar to what I had told him that I had in mind. We were surprised at the way he changed things around (such as moving the sink) and we had the kitchen built as he designed it. The design is so practical and livable. My Kitchen always gets compliments by those who see it.

Dallas designed space that functions beautifully and is also very beautiful. He created a great room addition for my first floor unit and redesigned the existing space to give me a second bedroom and bath. People entering the great room addition have literally gasped at how lovely it is. He took my desire for lots of light and a high airy space and created a great room that meets those desires. He is calm, pleasant, reliable and a pleasure to work with. Dallas worked with the contractor and supervised the work which took about 5 months. Exactly the time for which we were aiming. Since doing my house he has designed a huge makeover for a friend which she just loves.
Several years ago my wife and I engaged Dallas to do extensive remodeling of our home in Oak Park. Although we had re-modeled our home in the past on a limited basis, we had never used a design professional before. We started out on a small scale asking Mr. Smith to just re-design the lighting in our family room. After we saw what he could do with a single room, however, we decided to enlarge his assignment and re-design other areas of the house. We never regretted that decision. His attention to detail, his oversight of the construction, and his selection of the colors or materials were all excellent and far beyond what we could have accomplished on our own. After the work was done, it felt like a brand new house. The design improvements increased the overall value of the house. More importantly—although we have no plans to move as it is far too comfortable here-the design changes certainly improved our chances of selling the house someday if we ever decide to move.</p>
